Reflection Unit 2

in this unit, i learn how to write a good argumentative essay and also how to have a debate. when doing the argumentative essay, i don't think i do the essay good enough because i can't manage my grammar mistakes and also i need to make my argument clear and strong enough to make it fierce. when i have the debate, i can't look at the examiner because its really a nerve wrecking moment for me to see the examiner in their eyes. i got my argument simple but i am satisfied with it. the result of both of the assessment are pretty good but i will try to get better in the next unit

Who is Responsible?

It have been a large amount of issue that every year in Indonesia, many people have an accident and gotten into jail because they are the victims and also the guilty people that are arrested because of the underage driving. These days, it’s being a hot topic that a celebrity’s son that is only 13 years old and did not have a driving license drives and crash its car that get 7 people dies and many people injured. I think the father also needs to be responsible of his son’s act because he is the one who raise the child.

We all know that the kid is the one who drives. He droves from Jakarta to bogor and vice versa and it means he passed the border that parted Jakarta and the west java. I don’t think that the dad didn’t know that he would drive to it and in the Internet, it is stated that he should be at a wedding. Even though if he ditch the wedding, the father would have know that the kid was not there so then he becomes panic and quickly searching for his child because it’s a dad’s reflex to find for his child when he is not there.

People said that he swerved the car and lose control. As we all know, there is a quotation says that “like mother like son” because he is not with his mother because of the divorce, so it’s the dad who shows examples to his kids including how to drive. I think its also the dad’s fault that the kid swerved because probably his dad shows and teach him how to swerved and told him and make him feel swerving is a combination of driving that should be tried. He also think that it is a good thing to do and its okay to try without thinking about the consequences of doing it because he is foolish.

We could blame the father because he is the one who gives him the car. Even if its stated that he is using his brother’s car but still, the one who bought the car is his dad and the car is bought under his name. He, as the father need to realize that his children are all still underage and its not good to be given a car because they still take driving as a joke and game that he can play to show off and also to have fun.

I think its his father’s fault that this accident happens but, it is not a full fault on his father because the kid is the one who drives and control the car. We need to hear for further information weather both of them will be guilty or only one of them who will be guilty until the police and the lawyers gives an official statement.

Report to Arthur's Death

To the chief of police,

When we arrived at the scene of crime at the private estate of the Volupides family located on the 4th Avenue at 02:00 on the 24th of August 1970, we were greeted by a body that was later identified as Arthur Volupides lying on his back, face up on the foot of the stairs with legs hanging on the third stair and Queenie, his wife, beside the body. A glass was still gripped in his hand and the stove was on. Arthur was dressed in formal and was wearing a robe on top.

Queenie said that, “Something terrible happened. Arthur slipped and fell on the stairs. He was coming down for another drink–he still had the glass in his hand–and I think he’s dead. Oh, my God–what shall I do? ”

The autopsy result of Arthur Volupides confirmed that Arthur had died from a wound and stated that he had been drunk.

We have concluded that Queenie’s story does not match the evidence that we have found.

First of all, the glass in his possession was not broken. When a person falls down, the object they’re holding usually breaks or the other possible outcome is that you usually let go of that object as a protective reflex. The second evidence we got was that the object on the wall was not misplaced. The rule is that when someone falls down they would usually try to grab hold of something nearby to prevent theirselves from falling. The staircase carpet was not messed up which was illogical because when someone falls down carpet covered stairs; the carpet usually would be rumpled because of the friction. The biggest lead we’ve got is that victim was found lying on the floor, face up, while usually when someone falls downstairs, they would fall face first and the paramedics that would usually be called when someone experiences an accident, were not present.

After seeing all of the evidence, we can say that Queenie’s was lying and she will need to be interrogated for further investigation. If she’s proved to be guilty we will continue investigating and bring it to court.
